Be a Tourist in Your Hometown
Be a Tourist In Your Hometown was a community event reaching over 5,000 people. I helped plan, organize, and design advertisements each year we participated in the event. This particular year was an anniversary celebration showcasing the life of Trinity as well as offering engaging activities for the general public.
Earth Matters Speaker Series
Earth Matters Speaker Series was a personal passion project for me. The series provided weekly topics presented by a variety of local speakers to help inform people of simple daily life choices they can make to help create a more sustainable future .
One of the impacts from this event was Trinity English Lutheran Church forming a partnership with Dirt Wain, a local subscription based composting company, which resulted in Trinity becoming a downtown composting drop-off site for both the church and community.
Love Thy Neighbor
Love Thy Neighbor was a weekly conversation-based speaker series aimed to help create open discussion about controversial topics within the church. The topics ranged from LGBTQ+ struggles, to the importance of science, and questioning our western ideas of death.
This event was a collaborative effort and I assisted in choosing topics, creating a logo, and designing both print and social media advertisements. A unique form of advertising I did for this event was turn the logo into a tattoo which served as a way to share on social media through personal photos, and also a visual reminder on the body of the event. I chose a tattoo specifically because of the controversy some people feel towards them, which is the feeling I wanted to embody with this project, allowing people to lean into something that is out of their comfort zone.
