Pride (2021 & 2022)

Art installations hold the potential of grabbing people’s attention which can result in high social media engagement. This is exactly what happened with my Pride project. I purposefully chose the location of the design to be in front of the church entrance and added the Pride flag colors on the steps to communicate that all are welcome. This installation was created during our Downtown Pride Week.

The images were shared on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We witnessed a high increase in social media engagement from these posts. From personal testimonies we learned that people visited Trinity because they saw these images online.

Plastic Ocean

Plastic Ocean was part of an arts activity camp for children. I created, organized and designed the overall theme focused on the education of Reducing, Reusing and Recycling. I then lead the arts component using recyclable materials to create an installation they could have their parents and the public walk through, which resulted in more conversation on the topic.

Downtown Window Display Contest

Part of community engagement is participating in local events, such as a window display contest. The theme in 2022 was Fort Wayne in Bloom. I spent months creating each flower from crepe paper, which resulted in winning People’s Choice.
